I just got a journal from my friend/suitemate/forensics teammate Sara Lihz. I probably won't be very good about writing in it, because every time I've started a journal in the past I've written in it for about 3 days and then stopped. But I'll try to come up with something as often as I can. Today I just got back from working on a TEC (Teens Encounter Christ) retreat. It was very fun but I am exhausted from the 3 day weekend. To explain a little, TEC is a Christian/Catholic-based (obviously from the name) retreat for high school seniors and second semester juniors. It's a really great time for them to explore their faith and become closer to God. I was on wheat crew, which does all the behind the scenes work-washing dishes, setting up rooms & activities, etc. Last night we played a "game" that was really clever and a good prank if you are looking for one. Some of our leaders were asking us, "Do you want to be measured for your coffin?" This sounds wierd, but stick with me. Well, thinking they were just going to scare or something like that, I willing volunteered. They blindfolded me, led me in to kitchen and had me lay on the floor. Then they acted like they were measuring my body in different places, like waist and shoulders and height, then they said they needed to measure from my hip to my ankle. So I lifted my leg up, and as they put the ruler next to it, they pulled my pant leg out and dumped a pitcher of water down my pants. Needlesss to say, I screamed a lot and squirmed around. My wheat crew leader told me he was extra generous with my water-isn't that nice. So my whole butt and pant leg was soaking wet. But then I got to watch them do it to other people, which was fun. Though I was quite uncomfortable in my wet pants, I have to admit that it was a very clever prank AND that I am very gullable. That was my weekend. Now I'm going to try to get some sleep.
